If you managed to watch last night's "The West Wing" you might have heard Mr President Martin Sheen say that "behind Kashmir Taiwan is just about the most dangerous place on Earth." Well, that may be a slight exageration but being half Taiwanese I found a good quick timeline of US-China-Taiwan relations for those interested here.

Judging by the trailers it's seems safe to say that fans of Toy Story and Monster's Inc won't be disappointed by Pixar's latest film - Finding Nemo.

If any of you like me are suffering from end of football season blues, here are two good links I've come across - A virtual tour of the new Wembley Stadium (tickets on sale now...) and Shaolin Soccer. By all accounts it looks like a classic. One of my colleagues just got the dvd from CD-Wow and I'm dying to borrow it off him!

Climbing Everest

It's Bank Holiday Monday and while some people have just been chilling at home others have been climbing Everest! But why bother, when you can still enjoy a panoramic view of the summit here?

In 1935 Jesse Owens broke 4 world records in 45 minutes. But equally legendary are Downing College Volleyball Club who have come third in their division for the summer league! Nice one guys.

Maybe my jokes about the Sars situation were a bit bad. My parents are even getting their temperatures measured when they have to go out and buy stuff... Don't think they're using bras as face masks yet. Hey, that would've made a great money-making idea - sell a load of facemasks to the Taiwanese. I bet someone's done just that already... oh well!

A bit worried by this decision to make Michael Vaughan England's one-day cricket captain... Granted, he's the world's best batsman, but my Dad's a better fielder than him! Are his tactics in the field going to be any good? Doubtful, very doubtful... I'd vote for Phil Tufnell... actually no I wouldn't, not for captain, but for "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!" I would! I haven't witnessed any of the farcical nonsense but the Daily Mail's article on it was highly amusing, particularly the bit on them needing "medical and psychological evaluation." Go Tuffers!
