Apparently there's a word to describe people like me... (now don't be rude!). Half european, half Chinese or half Taiwanese people are called "eurasians". There are even sub-categories to these ethnic pigeon holes. For example, half Chinese, half Indian people are called "chindians." "Chindian" is an amusing word... I wonder if Jimmy Hill or Bruce Forsyth are honorary chindians? You don't see many eurasians like me around really. 0.3% of the US population I hear. Probably more amongst christian missionary families I guess. Some people meet me and you can see them trying to work out where I come from, find the middle ground between southeast asian and UK to conclude that I'm middle-eastern. Even one of my own uncles thinks I look like an Iraqi. Why not say I look like a taliban leader just without the beard. Cheers, thanks, I appreciate it. I'm eurasian... at least that's what it says on my pilot's license.

Going into the home of people you've never met before and trying to work out whether you want to live with them while at the same time trying to persuade them that they would want to live with you is, well, a weird situation to find yourself in. And I had to do this three times last night. Yup, I'm fulfilling my resolution number 2 and moving out by the end of the month. This is because I fulfilled my resolution number 1 and got a dream job. Yeah baby! <speech>I'd like to thank my family, my friends and...</speech> Masterplan 2003 is working like a treat. Anyway, place number 1 was owned by this quiet south african accountant, the room was bright red and barely big enough for a midget. Place number 2 was a luxury flat owned by a Irish guy (clearly financially very sorted) with one other person I didn't meet. But very, very nice... and therefore probably impossible to get! Place number 3 was home to the couple of lads who seem to live for drinking heavily all night long. Hmmm... Must persevere and look for more places!
Anyone got a room going free in Surbiton?

One of my friends is going go-karting tonight at the King's Cross Raceway. This has got to be done soon.

Just over a month on from starting my stock predictions and investing a virtual £100k, I'm about £240 in the black! Is anyone willing to make a donation to the Dave Butler Trustfund to make the virtual £100k not so virtual?

Does anyone remember that game in Gladiators called "The Gauntlet" where the poor challenger, about as big as one of the gladiator's biceps, had to run down this half pipe and try to get past five or six human brick walls? They invariably nearly killed themselves in the attempt. Anyway, that's what it's beginning to feel like walking down Tottenham Court Rd. The challengers are still members of the general public but the gladiators are substituted by "chuggers" or "charity muggers." You really regret it if you do start to talk to one of them. They do a core information dump on you. I've started to say, "I'll look at the website" (which I do!) just so that I don't get stuck there, noticing everybody else walking past having a that-muppet-got-stopped smile on their faces. There must be better ways of raising money...

Wait, hold on... one of the best movies ever made is showing later tonight. Channel 5 presents, at 6pm, The Goonies! Yeah baby. Why isn't this out on DVD in UK yet?
