Went for a day out in Oxford with Oli yesterday since he's going to study at Merton College next year. For a college that belongs to a second-rate university, very nice! It's not Downing College but still very pleasant. Met up with Steve and proceeded to go to the pub, had a crisis on a punt, missed Liz's phonecall (sorry Liz) and went back to a pub where Oli taught some american students from D.C. how to do some russian dancing... The photos will be priceless. Steve taught them some card game he no doubt made up on the spot and I showed them a few trickshots on the pool table. They kindly gave us a guided tour of Exeter College though (again, very nice!).

"They've bought exactly the right ships and missiles from Russia to take it over... yup, with exactly the right ranges to destroy American aircraft carriers..."

So yeah, apart from Oli telling me yesterday how certain he was that China are going to invade Taiwan soon (probably when I'm out there next month), my weekend has been pretty good so far. Firstly, after a bit of a struggle I managed to set up a home network from my two computers. My old computer is now all ready to be a server when my broadband modem finally comes... More importantly though, I checked out the church down the road, St Mary's, Bryanston Square, this morning and it seems to be pretty sound. Yeah baby, I think I'm going to enjoy getting involved there.

Wet Wet Wet

I'm back! Well, sort of. Broadband isn't up and running yet but I am hosting this site on my own server after all so there's no reason not to carry on writing entries! I've just been quite busy... So anyway, I've completed the move, been here for almost 2 weeks now and am settling in. Central London is cool but very expensive - my haircut today cost £15! It also seems to rain a lot here. Apparently the odds for it raining every day this month is pretty good... Hmmm...

English Pride

Even though we're out of the World Cup, we can still restore some English pride because Wimbledon starts today. There's a useful real-time scoreboard on the website if you can't get to a TV. Go Tim!

Down and Out

Have been too disappointed with England being out of the World Cup to write much. Plus I'm actually quite ill... I should be better soon though.

I'm moving down to London on Tues so this website will disappear for a couple of weeks, then hopefully will reappear at www.nimisis.com once a phoneline and ADSL is up and running in my new place (and I've sorted out a webserver). See you then.

Latent Love

"Latent love" is up and running now. LL is a new (but evil) addition to this website that will probably cause many break-ups. Better to know he/she is not the one sooner rather than later! You'll thank me.

Eye Injuries

"You have a dirty great big scratch on your cornea" was the verdict by the doctor after 5 hours of waiting in A&E tonight. I did it by jumping over a fence and into the spread branches of a tree. Branch vs Dave and Branch won. Foolish, but apparently my contact lens saved further damage so I think I can count myself lucky.

Waiting for 5 hours is enough to cheese anyone off but having to wait 5 hours having been turned away by Boots is infuriating. They could've seen me straight away but didn't because they were afraid I might sue them! Was not happy about that. How cynical! I just wanted to be looked at...
