Another steamy night of passion is in progress... for my neighbours... Not for me obviously otherwise I wouldn't be writing this would I? I'm exhausted from football training anyway. Our coach is a professional and knows exactly how to extract every bit of energy from people like my neighbours. This happened in my old place too. Dave, love thy neighbour! Maybe. When I buy a house it will definitely have to be detached. Buy... house... Sorry, I just cracked myself up. Buy a house? When I'm 80 and can afford it, perhaps!

We have this intranet messageboard thing at work telling us about various things we need to fix. Today there was one that said, "Some of the plumes of smoke in the ***** demo are completely black for no obvious reason and the explosions have solid lines coming out of them when very close together..." First I thought "Not another thing to fix..." but then it dawned on me that actually mucking about on computer games all day, fixing them, playing them and getting paid for it is quite ideal really. A step up from not even having a desk or computer at my old job. Now I have a desk with two monitors from computers with a combined worth of ten grand (and space for a fan to keep myself cool).

Did you know that you have more computing power between your legs right now than NASA had to play with to put those guys on the moon? Mine like yours is more likely to make me go sterile than take me to the moon but nevermind.

A foot! That's how much Oxford beat us by... Very, very lucky if you ask me! If only the course was a couple of metres longer we would've won it. (And perhaps if we hadn't crashed into a boat in training the other day...)

Dilbert

For comedy in the workplace, Dilbert never disappoints!

What a result! We gave them a stuffing! It was a Turkey shoot! Okay, okay... no more Turkey jokes. Let's joke about Aussies. I watched the football in an Aussie pub called the Walkabout in Wimbledon and I've never seen so many TVs in one place before. Definitely planning to go back there often, and most definitely when we whip them during the rugby world cup in their own backyard!

CNN/Reuters:

News reports have filtered out early this morning that US forces have swooped on an Iraqi Primary School and detained 6th Grade teacher Mohammed Al-Hazar. Sources indicate that, when arrested, Al-Hazar was in possession of a ruler, a protractor, a set square and a calculator.

Got back to Heathrow from Taiwan last night. Didn't get DVT, didn't get SARS and didn't get much NAP! This was perhaps partly because I did actually have a bit of a cough and agitating my nervous neighbours with spluttering fits was quite amusing. But I'm shattered now. I see this whole SARS business has finally made the news over here. Loads of people were wearing face masks on my flight with good ol' Eva Air. Well, I just thought Phuket. You see, I made an observation that Phuket Airlines as far as I could tell didn't have any people in their lounges with face masks. Actually I think they're too small an airline to afford lounges... passengers are probably just bussed on board. But I mean, I share their point of view, those face masks probably don't help to prevent SARS at all. And they definitely would cause people's glasses to fog up. Walking into walls is a bit dangerous isn't it?

I like the Phuket world view. I could almost create an advertising campaign for them (if they could be bothered to have one). No pretty pictures, just text. Even though I can't write those squiggly lines, in English it'd be something like this -
