In 1935 Jesse Owens broke 4 world records in 45 minutes. But equally legendary are Downing College Volleyball Club who have come third in their division for the summer league! Nice one guys.

Maybe my jokes about the Sars situation were a bit bad. My parents are even getting their temperatures measured when they have to go out and buy stuff... Don't think they're using bras as face masks yet. Hey, that would've made a great money-making idea - sell a load of facemasks to the Taiwanese. I bet someone's done just that already... oh well!

A bit worried by this decision to make Michael Vaughan England's one-day cricket captain... Granted, he's the world's best batsman, but my Dad's a better fielder than him! Are his tactics in the field going to be any good? Doubtful, very doubtful... I'd vote for Phil Tufnell... actually no I wouldn't, not for captain, but for "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!" I would! I haven't witnessed any of the farcical nonsense but the Daily Mail's article on it was highly amusing, particularly the bit on them needing "medical and psychological evaluation." Go Tuffers!
What's your IQ? I'd say lower than you think and higher than you look...

Come on West Ham! You can do it. Yes, although you might need an electron microscope to see the straw I'm clutching, I still think they can stay up. Wouldn't you rather Leeds go down?

Walked down the Strand this evening expecting to see rioters, well, rioting I guess... you know, generally doing their stuff but was frankly disappointed! I wasn't going to join in, was just looking forward to a baton charge or maybe like a water canon nailing some poor bloke to a wall... No such luck. There was evidence of the mounted police everywhere though. My friend and I had to go to the IMAX cinema for our dose of excitement instead. "Ghost of the Abyss" was quite good - a version of Titanic without Leo and Kate. A third of the length, no up-chuck-reflex-inducing scenes and an extra dimension - so all together much better on the movie!

Someone at Channel 5 has a sense of humour. They're showing that film Outbreak during this time when this Acute Respiratory Syndrome Epidemic bug is becoming quite a serious pain in the backside. It's reducing the fittest of people, some even fitter than Hungarian weightlifters I bet...
