Countdown's Numbers Game

Just finished writing a little java applet mimicking Countdown's Numbers Game. I absolutely hate Countdown and can't stand Richard Whiteley but still, the Numbers Game can sometimes be challenging... Pretend to be Carol Vorderman and have a go...

Can people be any more bitter than those on these sites? I'm sure that some of these revenge tactics could be classed as serious criminal offences...

No! I wanted Jade to win Big Brother...

Kissing golf balls

Was watching the open golf final today which was quite exciting but I must ask, does Levet really have to kiss his golf ball quite so often? What a stupid thing to do. I heard that there was this guy who used to lick his golf ball to clean it probably and he died because fairways are always sprayed with this stuff which is poisonous... pesticide maybe? Not a terribly good idea Monsieur Levet!

Church was really good again this morning. Met Kirsten who has a son going to my old school! I found out because she went up to the front to tell the congregation how thankful she was to have found a school for her son and happened to be the person sitting next to me. I then chatted to her and, out of curiosity, asked which school her son was going to go to. I love the way God does that. She had been really worried about getting him into a secondary school. Well, he's going to a pretty good one. They now live in the lap of luxury at that school, with microwaves, Sky TV and Playstations! <old man voice>In my day, we only had a toaster and 2 hot plates... we didn't even have curtains!</old man voice>

Went for a day out in Oxford with Oli yesterday since he's going to study at Merton College next year. For a college that belongs to a second-rate university, very nice! It's not Downing College but still very pleasant. Met up with Steve and proceeded to go to the pub, had a crisis on a punt, missed Liz's phonecall (sorry Liz) and went back to a pub where Oli taught some american students from D.C. how to do some russian dancing... The photos will be priceless. Steve taught them some card game he no doubt made up on the spot and I showed them a few trickshots on the pool table. They kindly gave us a guided tour of Exeter College though (again, very nice!).

"They've bought exactly the right ships and missiles from Russia to take it over... yup, with exactly the right ranges to destroy American aircraft carriers..."

So yeah, apart from Oli telling me yesterday how certain he was that China are going to invade Taiwan soon (probably when I'm out there next month), my weekend has been pretty good so far. Firstly, after a bit of a struggle I managed to set up a home network from my two computers. My old computer is now all ready to be a server when my broadband modem finally comes... More importantly though, I checked out the church down the road, St Mary's, Bryanston Square, this morning and it seems to be pretty sound. Yeah baby, I think I'm going to enjoy getting involved there.

Wet Wet Wet

I'm back! Well, sort of. Broadband isn't up and running yet but I am hosting this site on my own server after all so there's no reason not to carry on writing entries! I've just been quite busy... So anyway, I've completed the move, been here for almost 2 weeks now and am settling in. Central London is cool but very expensive - my haircut today cost £15! It also seems to rain a lot here. Apparently the odds for it raining every day this month is pretty good... Hmmm...

what do Christians believe?
