...had its UK release today! And for once the US release date is after the UK's. The game is getting rave reviews, partly because it's always been great, and partly because of its innovative wireless steering wheel, not to mention the added feature of being able to race online with anyone in the world!

This advert has been running on UK tv for a while now... Are the alarm bells ringing?

British taxpayers have spent over £10 million in the Princess Diana inquest that today returned the verdict that she was unlawfully killed. Something we all already knew. So let's get our money back. What's stopping Al Fayed from getting sued? He brought about this pointless exercise and he was the employer of the grossly negligent driver Henri Paul.
I can't imagine the governement doing anything, after all they're now more interested in taxing poor people more than before. The royal family can't sue people. So does Al Fayed just get away with it?

Some Nimisis software that's been popular with star gazers and academics is Exposure, which makes long exposure images with a webcam. There's a new version out now which allows users to set where to save the resulting image and also what format, i.e. compressed or uncompressed.

Nimisis.com is now a "dofollow" blog. That means that any outlink to a website left in the comments won't have the "nofollow" tag. To explain, a link with the "nofollow" option tells search engines not to follow the link and therefore won't assign the external website any extra ranking. So now, unlike most blogs out there, this option will be omitted. As long as the comments are worthwhile, it doesn't seem right to give the contributer no credit for their trouble, hence the change.
This is only on a trial basis, as there is a risk of abuse, but hopefully it'll be permanent!

A while back I wrote some anti-plagiarism software. It compares all the documents in a folder against each other for evidence of copying. The feedback is that it needs to be able to accept more file formats, in addition to plain text (.txt) format, in particular Microsoft Word documents. So I've made a free utility that can batch convert files from doc to txt format. Popular software source files such as .cpp, .java (and many more) can now also be checked.
Download and try it out here.

South Park studios is allowing visitors to watch every single episode online for free. I'm not a fan particularly but I think it's good when things are made free to the public. Unfortunately this service is not available outside US yet, but maybe soon...
