Pagerank update April 2008

Google have just done a pagerank update. If you have the Google toolbar installed you should see that Nimisis.com is back to PR4. Same for PriceCutReview.com and Sport.omani.ac. About time too!

Nintendo Wii Fit

It's the UK release date for the Nintendo Wii Fit tomorrow. There's now no excuse not to get a bit healthier and do some exercise! Just in case stock runs out like the Wii console did, there's a Wii Fit stock finder to help get hold of one.

Twitter watch

Finally got the chance to try out Twitter recently and I can see why some people find it addictive! Useful too... a story made the news last week about someone managing to alert his friends and family after getting wrongfully arrested.

Anyway, I like sites that have an api for users to make their own mashups so I've made Twitter Watch. It came up with some interesting stuff - like there being a fairly big earthquake in Taiwan today... Oh, and feel free to add me to your Twitter list.

Quantum of Solace

... for the poor stunt driver that crashed James Bond's Aston Martin into Lake Garda last week? I wonder if this might be a publicity stunt... I remember when Casino Royale was being filmed the film set caught fire and they grabbed the headlines.

Anyway, Quantum of Solace comes out in cinemas later this year and, if it's anything like Casino Royale, will definitely be worth watching.

Cheaper train tickets

rip offIf you like getting ripped off then you'll love buying your train tickets via theTrainLine.com. Unlike the alternatives such as the South West Trains website or the First Great Western site (RailEasy etc...), they add "Columbus Travel Insurance" by default, a £2.50 charge for using a credit card and £1 for posting your tickets first class - more if you want faster delivery.

theTrainLine.com wasn't always like this but I noticed the difference having had to book various tickets recently. I know Exponent Private Equity acquired them in July 2006 for £168 million. Sounds a bit pricey to me - maybe that's the reason for this behaviour? Don't let them get away with it!
