War on spam

...looks to be being won, slowly. ScotchSpam lists court cases where victims have successfully been compensated for unsolicited mail. If you can prove your email address was obtained illegally then UK courts should judge in your favour. The proving part isn't easy, though this site is a useful resource.

Tags: spam, law

Entry 63

Here's an online test to see if a url is blocked by the chinese government in order to "protect" their public. I'm glad to say that nimisis.com is freely viewable to the far east's billions. I should definitely make chinese posts more often. You may have noticed that occasionally my posts are a load of <strike>nonsense</strike> garbled symbols but that's only because it's encoded for chinese. If you think you can read it go to View -> Encoding -> Chinese Traditional (Big5). If you can't read chinese, <strike>tough!</strike> learn! ...or use this online dictionary.

Tags: law, Chinese
