Nigel Griffiths quits over Trident

Ironically here is a man who is eminently electable. Hope he gets to cast his vote before leaving parliament. Either way, he deserves lots of respect, especially as Trident's rubbish.

Tags: Trident, politics

Trident (not the chewing gum)

Tony Blair, supported by David Cameron, announced a UK order for Trident worth 25 billion today. That's roughly £400 for each member of the population. Is it really worth it?

Dubya loves it, BAE loves it, but 59% of the UK doesn't.

It's interesting to me that the government makes it clear to us that countries in the Middle East have "weapons of mass destruction", whereas the same things in the West are called "nuclear deterrents."

Update: If you're against this, sign the e-petition here.

Tags: Trident, Tony Blair, David Cameron
