Online world geography quiz

My ignorance when it comes to geography is truly shocking and I've been meaning to do something about it. So, here's a little world geography quiz Google Maps mashup I've whipped up using the Google Maps API. Hopefully you'll learn a few things with it! I'd certainly never heard of the tiny island nation of Pitcairn (population 53) before today...

Point taken. There are also some with special characters which may not be displaying correctly... though you might still recognize the name. There are about 3000 cities of which most are right but I'll look into this.

This is pretty cool, but there are some very obvious mistakes.

For example it lists Hollywood as being in Florida. Strange, I always thought it was in California, somewhere around Los Angeles.

There is a bigger Hollywood in Florida, but you're right it's less well known. I guess having the state abbreviation would be good!
