Property boom indicators

Related to my mention of new developments near where I live, I found this bbc online article which suggests that the following are signs of an "on the up" area.

Ethnic Cuisine
Thicker telephone directories
Crowded public transport
Better school results
Neighbourhood watch schemes
More burglar alarms
More skips and scaffolding
Graffiti disappearing
Planning notices appear
More traffic wardens

If someone could somehow gather all this information, quantify it and create a google maps mashup, I think it'd be a winner!
