This is a Paint by Numbers solver, better known as Mario's Picross solver or Nonogram solver to some. (The game is also called Hanjie or Griddler.) Various Paint By Numbers puzzles are featured on a website that can be found at http://pbn.homelinux.com/pbn/cgi-bin/GalleryHome.cgi (currently a dead link Aug 07). This page on nimisis.com can find the solution to the puzzles. After inputting the URL to a particular puzzle below and choosing "Get Puzzle", a java applet will appear, painting the solution.
For example, if you right click and copy the shortcut to http://pbn.homelinux.com/pbn/cgi-bin/PBNPuzzle.cgi/40x40/20010208-TJR.pb (which takes you to a puzzle called "Feathers") and then paste it into "Puzzle URL" the solution to a fairly difficult puzzle (rated 4.3) will appear.

This is version 1.0. Various improvements will be made to future versions. Comments and suggestions for improvement are welcome.
Known issues
The applet takes a few seconds to load. If it takes longer, check that your computer is able to view java applets.
