Property boom indicators

Related to my mention of new developments near where I live, I found this bbc online article which suggests that the following are signs of an "on the up" area.

• Ethnic Cuisine
• Thicker telephone directories
• Crowded public transport
• Better school results
• Neighbourhood watch schemes
• More burglar alarms
• More skips and scaffolding
• Graffiti disappearing
• Planning notices appear
• More traffic wardens

If someone could somehow gather all this information, quantify it and create a google maps mashup, I think it'd be a winner!
