It's the UK release date for the Nintendo Wii Fit tomorrow. There's now no excuse not to get a bit healthier and do some exercise! Just in case stock runs out like the Wii console did, there's a Wii Fit stock finder to help get hold of one.

Wii Mario Kart

...had its UK release today! And for once the US release date is after the UK's. The game is getting rave reviews, partly because it's always been great, and partly because of its innovative wireless steering wheel, not to mention the added feature of being able to race online with anyone in the world!

Super Mario Galaxy

Splashed out and got Super Mario Galaxy for the Nintendo Wii today, and it's every bit as good as the reviews say it is! Huge attention to detail and loads of levels packed in yet still intuitive to play and altogether awesome!

Buying Wii in Taiwan

The Nintendo Wii is only just coming out in the land of my birth, Taiwan, and they're going crazy over them judging by what I've been hearing. Over on this side of the world they're still pretty hard to get hold of, but Amazon UK did have them for a relatively long time this evening. Wii want cricket

Combining two of the topics that have been popular here lately - there seems to be a growing group of cricket-loving gamers who think that the Wii is in desperate need of a cricket game. I agree. In fact if there was a Wii development kit around that I could get my hands on, I wouldn't mind having a go myself. I've seen a demo video of the dev kit in action and it looks quite intuitive...

As a side note, another couple of people got a Wii via my stock checker yesterday, so sign up if you're wanting one too!

How to lose weight with a Wii

Update: If you're reading this, you might also be interested in the new Wii Fit.

Anyone who's played Wii Sports on the Nintendo Wii will no doubt notice that a game of tennis or baseball or boxing does take a fair bit out of you. This guy even did an experiment to see if he'd lose weight by playing it regularly. Who says video games are bad for you? If this appeals and you haven't got one already, get a Wii here.

Wii In-Stock UK Checker now US too!

As folk are still struggling to find them, I've extended the Wii in stock notification service for our American friends as well as UK residents so check it out to find a Wii for sale! They're still pretty rare but my email list has still got fewer than 100 subscribers so hurry to be near the top of the email list.

From the feedback I've received 4 people got hold of one when Amazon had them for sale yesterday morning so well done!

PS3 in stock checker

In anticipation of the eventual release of the PlayStation 3 in UK, I've made a PS3 stock checker. Sign up to be notified by email when new stock arrives. There's also a Nintendo Wii stock check page. Amazon.co.uk had it just this morning!

Another Update: Lots of visitors have been coming to Nimisis.com via the search engines so I've made my own little Wii stock checker.

Update: Even though I mentioned new stock notification services before as useful for getting your hands on a Wii, signing up now to their email list is too late. By the time you get an email they're all sold out. You're better off downloading URLy and checking the relevant Amazon page for significant changes (i.e. more than 60 individual changes) every couple of minutes.

Frankly, this should not be allowed. This site clearly says they've got Wii consoles in stock yet there is no purchase link! (In case they have actually updated the page now, a pic of what's there at the moment is below.)

Nintendo, Wii have a problem

The Wii comes out tomorrow and unless you're willing to queue out in the rain overnight, or have a pre-order for tomorrow, getting one will have to wait. Luckily, there is an excellent site that will track inventories across the UK (and US) for new stock and alert you if you so wish - Nowinstock.net.

Nintendo Wii preview

Only 3 days until Amazon.co.uk take pre-orders for the Wii and 3 weeks till it actually comes out! If you're not currently planning to buy one, you might be tempted after watching this.
